Update on My Noodle

In the PET-CT gantry I lay like a mummy
As rads pulsed in and out once more
All I could hear was a grumbling tummy
Until I awoke to my snore!

This study is aimed to inform my physician
If the brain MRI changes they see
Reflect an ongoing destructive condition
Or the remnants of dying debris.

Though the tech says the study is 'perfect'
All that means is the image is sharp.
We'll now have to wait for the verdict...
Will I play with the kids or a harp?

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses..."
Yet our future is His and not man's
So we'll await the next treatment courses
As we rest secure in His hands.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers,
Dr Dan

  1. As much as I enjoy harp music, I would much rather see you playing with the kids! Praying :).

I've been praying earnestly for months and months for you (and your family) - and continue to do so! I've been blessed, encouraged, and stretched by your posts over the past year. Thank you so much for sharing your insight and some of your struggles.

  6. I so enjoyed your poem and can feel the messages running through your brain. I am a friend of Dennis and Joyce, he was my flight instructor many moons ago and they have kept us up to date. I have a friend who has small cell lung cancer and is getting ready to go through a session of brain radiation. If I may I will give her your website and hope that she will be inspired by your words. I wish you the best and enjoy each day to its fullest, it's a gift and that's why we call it the present.
    Best to you and yours,
    Ann Roche
